RE: [A/S] Joe Scudders Custom Bike Rack
Hi again Tom,
I just looked on the WWW.hollywoodracks.com web page, and don't see the same
rack I purchased two years ago. Mine has a tray for the bikes to set in, and
a vertical bar that has a cam closing set of jaws that clamps onto the seat
Poast or frame to hold the bike near the top someplace. It has two identical
setups to hold the two bikes. They made the same thing in a three and four
bike setup. The individual bike setups were bolted to a square bar that was
mounted in the square receiver with one of their "No Wobble" hitch mounts
(look below the "Boomer 2" picture for picture of hitch piece). The cam lock
jaws have worn the paint off the vertical post where the seat is mounted on
the bikes in my case. That maybe be the reason they seem to use a different
type of holding fixture on all their current models.
Check out their "Tow and Go" model. It is exactly what was ask for in the
post that got this thread started. I would not like the extension in the
hitch bar area, and question how much turn you could make before you crunch
your bike and trailer together. I looked at these when I was doing my
research, but ruled them out for these reasons.
