  Ok - I didn't express myself properly.

  What I want to do is spiff up the anodized finish, not remove it.  
The polished aluminum look of an Airstream is awesome but I prefer 
the low maintainance of the Streamline in it's original anodized 
state. 
   Streamers and Streakers use the aforementioned Transmission Fluid 
and other petroleum products to raise a shine on the skin and protect 
it. I was looking for alternatives and so I posted the question on an 
auto detailing board, expecting to be told of special waxes. Instead 
the suggestion was EverBrite which seems to be a surface sealer that 
can be sprayed or wiped on - after the steel wool or other deep 
cleaning method is employed.
    It's a bit spendy and so I'm trying to find out if anybody has 
ever tried it and if so how it worked. Mayhaps I'll have to be the 
one to try it and then I can be the one to post the DAMHIK replies to 
future questions on the same topic :~)
