Three years ago I left Nashville, TN. traveling 40 West through ARK., OK., 
TX. panhandle, New Mexico and into AZ. to pick up my Excella 500.  Best I 
can remember, the road is not always kind west of Amarillo, TX.  I've talked 
to numerous people who have had blowouts between the New Mexico border and 
Amarillo.  I had a blowout 40 miles west of Amarillo but I remember the road 
not being that bad.

There has been all kinds of construction over the last few years on I-40  
leading into Nashville and it is pretty nice now.  As soon as you get 
through Nashville it is a straight shot to Knoxville, TN.
