[A/S] Re:Shortwave in the Trailer
Hi Joan,
I understand your problem. I have tried running a wire around the inside of
the trailer at about window level. It all most sort of works. I got a few
of the
very strongest stations.
I think one of the amplified shortwave antennas intended for apartment
dwellers is the answer. The Sony AN-LP1 sells for about $80 and is a
kind of fold up thing.
I would strongly recommend you get the current addition of the book
Passport to World Band Radio (about $20). They have evaluation
articles on antennas, radios, software etc. Every shortwave listener
should have a copy of this book! IMHO. The New York Times called
it the "TV Guide for world band radios".
BTW, what kind of radio do you use? My current word band receiver
is a Sony ICF-SW7600GR.
Good listening,
