[A/S] Shortwave in the Trailer

Hi everybody. I have a question. I am nuts about shortwave and have a
portable I carry everywhere. Right now I have a longwire at the beach that
is my main antenna. I ran the lead wire into the bedroom and under my bunk
through the outside hatch in the back, but am wondering if anone else out
there is into shortwave and what you do on the road for reception. The
radio has a whip antenna, but getting reception inside a metal box in the
mountains is nearly impossible. I tried running a little 50 foot line
through the trees last time we were camping, but got zero reception. Any
suggestions? Has anyone used an amplified antenna inside an airstream? I
fear it would just pick up the 12 volt noise. Does that old antennan on top
of the Airstream receive shsortwave? BTW. My Airstream is a '79 Sovereign.

Thanks, Joan
