Re: [A/S] choosing tires for single axle trailor



Just a quick observation.  The other day, in Fort Myers, FL, I saw a 
beautiful polished 1969 19' Airstream behind a sort of gold, late model 
Suburban . . . Why is this noteworthy?  Underneath, just inboard of the 
wheels, on the single axle, was a pair of springy things that extended 
down toward the road surface.  My guess is, that in the event of tire 
failure, the spring struts would prevent the low Side from bottoming out 
and the scrapping on the highway, would sure as hell warn the driver.  I 
am not even sure if that is what they were for but, it sure looked like it.
