Terry,

The Vet thinks that it is motion sickness.  Our cat is
two years old, and had outgrown his crate before we
noticed.  So, I think there was a little anxiety
interwoven with having to get into the crate and not
seeing the movement.

The Vet said that he'd give him some medication, but
wanted us to try letting the cat travel outside of the
crate for the whole trip.

Last weekend was his first trip.  We did not feed him
that morning, and only put him in his crate when we
were stopped and getting in and out of the truck. 
When we pulled out he rode in my wife's lap.  In about
5 minutes he climbed into the crate and pooped.  He
never did vomit.  When we returned, we did not feed
him the evening before, but we did give him a few
treats after we had been on the road awhile.  He did
fine.

We've got a longer trip coming up next month, and
we're going to try it again before we go back to the
Vet.  We aren't anxious in medicating out pets if
there is an alternative.
