Re: [A/S] tires again.

John,

Airstream changed from Michelin to Goodyear Marathons a number of years ago.
There are other manufacturers out there that make suitable tires as well. The
main thing to know going in is the size. For all applications it is ST225 75R15
Load range D or E. The ST designator means "Specialty Tire" and is intended for
trailer applications only. The tires have added UV protection and stiffer side
walls for more stable straight line towing. This is a radial tire. A radial
tire size is more consistent across brands than the old bias ply tires because
the size description "ST225 75R15" describes tread width, tire width as a ratio
and the wheel size where as the old bias ply 700 15 description does not define
the tire width. Experience within the group has show that Carlisle bias plys
tended to be an overall wider tire and will not fit easily in an Airstream
dual axle wheel well.
