[A/S] Tire information on the evening news

There was an interesting segment on the CBS Evening News tonight 2/6/04
regarding more concerns about Firestone tires - they mentioned the
Steeltex model.

If you go to the CBS link to the information from the segment - you'll also
find quite a bit of related tire information - including an interesting
interactive area titled "Where The Rubber Meets The Road".  You can learn
quite a bit about the basics of tires - i.e. learning how to basically read
and interpret the sidewall information etc.

Every so often the subject of tires comes up on this site - and I thought
this update on Firestone Steeltex would be of interest to the oldtimers -
and for those that have joined recently.  There are numerous tire links that
have been shared in the past - but for the newcomers - this might be a good
place to start!
