Hi Will & Bonnie,

We have the 8.1 engine in our '03 Avalanche pulling our 22 ft. Sovereign and
have had no problems. We have only 9,000 miles on the truck and most of
them have been pulling the trailer. Having the transmission temp gauge I
watch it pretty close but rarely run in trailer mode. The temp runs around
150 degrees as I recall. It keeps the rpms lower so I get around 10 miles
per gallon. I don't know if that is wise however. We plan on going to
Lansing for the WBCCI Rally this summer and will I not hesitate to use the
trailer mode if it gets warm. I'm planning to replace the transmission
fluid with a synthetic oil but have not yet. You might follow
