RE: [A/S] Stabilizers

Hunter,
I also use an 18V cordless drill with my stabilizer jacks. I just
bought a short 3/8" drive extension, cut off the female end and then
flattened the sides of the shaft on my grinder so that the extension
could not slip in the drill chuck. A 19mm socket fits the BAL
stabilizers, my Hensley Arrow torsion bar jacks and my BAL tongue
twister, so I use the drill on all of them. I also have a neat
accessory for nighttime use, an illuminating socket adapter. You simply
insert the adapter to between the extension and the socket and it shines
a bright light THRU the socket illuminating where you are aiming the
socket. This makes running those jacks down at night a breeze. The
socket light came from Sears. While the electric stabilizing jacks are
nice, I have run into several A/S owners that complained of reliability
and indicated that they would rather have my setup.

BTW, I carry a spare battery for my Ryobi drill and always charge both
batteries whenever I have power.
