Greetings Bill and Hunter!

Bill is correct.  I try to avoid as many potential pitfalls while 
traveling that I possibly can anticipate.  I err on the side of 
having excess tow vehicle beyond my minimum needs; and both the tow 
vehicle and my coaches keep regular check-up appointments with their 
factory-trained service technicians.  There are always those 
unexpected things happen that pose a problem for everyone, but are 
magnified for those of us who travel solo - - one of my most 
memorable:

I had picked up my Overlander after having a trusted shop rebuild 
the brakes.  The traffic on the 4-lane highway was unusually heavy 
so I made a right turn and continued on to a county road that should 
have taken me on a loop back to the 4-lane highway going in the 
opposite direction.  About half-way through the loop I encountered a 
road closed sign and a detour into a parking lot and boat ramp - - 
the space was unbelievably tight and I must have been in and out of 
the Suburban more than 20 times checking my turn-around progress - - 
at one point the rear bumper of my Airstream was in the water as I 
had to back partially down the boat ramp in order to get turned 
around - - I hate to think what passing boaters must have thought.  
Had I read my local paper that morning before leaving the house, I 
would have read of the closing of that particular road that was less 
than 25 miles from my home.
