I have pulled with both (a dual-cam for over 7 years),
although it is still early in my experience with the
equal-i-zer.  My dealer sells both and has stated in
his experience those folks who have switched from the
dual-cam to the equal-i-zer feel the equal-i-zer is
the better hitch.  I've only really pulled once with
the equal-i-zer, about 38 miles from my dealer to my
home when I picked up my new Classic.  I was driving
Interstate highway with a heavy cross wind and gusts. 
The Classic stayed rock solid behind my van the entire
trip.  18 wheelers didn't seem to make any difference.
 So far I'm impressed.

I think the major factor in changing was the fact that
some of my hitch components were approaching 20 years
old, my new Classic has a 1,225 lb hitch weight, and
while I liked the dual-cam and its new version (HP), I
never did like the hassle of the U-bolts that had to
be placed in my gas bottle tray on my Safari (older
dual-cam), and the new HP unit requires drilling two
holes in the frame (so installation must be done
right, no margin for error).
