Full Hookups .. was.Re: [A/S] 1971 Airstream

Here in the Midwest, only about half of the campground that I utilize 
have sewer hookups available.  Neither of my coaches have gray water 
tanks, and I haven't found this to be a significant issue as the blue 
tanks aren't a particular problem (the one that I use for longer 
trips has the braket that allows it to be towed <very slowly> to the 
dump station for dumping).  I also carry a "small-fry" blue tank that 
holds less than 10 gallons (I believe that its actual rating is close 
to 5 gallons) for quick rest area stops for lunch, etc.

I typically tow one or the other of my trailers from 6,000 to 8,000 
miles each summer, and have found that only about 25% to 30% of the 
campgrounds that I visit have sewer hookups available - - and many 
that do have them only at a small portion of their sites.  I stick to 
the backroads so those campgrounds nearer the Interstate system may 
be more apt to have a higher proportion of sites with sewer hookups.

The longest trip in my '64 Overlander was in 1998 when I traveled to 
the International Rally in Boise, Idaho - - that trip was over 8,000 
miles with a number of side-trips throughout the Rocky Mountain 
Region.

Thus far, the longest trip in my '78 Minuet has been to the Rocky 
Mountain Region VAC Rally in 2003 - - a total of about 3,000 miles 
with side-trips.  The Minuet and Suburban are scheduled for a real 
workout this summer with a trip to Alaska (9,000+ miles) if all goes 
as planned.
