I once replaced the tank on a '69 26 footer. All the work was performed 
from underneath. I did it myself. Don't remember much about it (this was in 
'72) except that it was a success and not very difficult. Local AS dealer 
had the tank and some advice.

I had bought the trailer used with freeze damage and saved a few bucks on 
the price because of that tank.

It was translucent clear polyethylene, if I remember correctly. Don't know 
if a patch would have stuck. Maybe they have changed construction now. PVC 
would be a piece of cake to patch!
