Looks to me like it is only 40 to 60 miles away.
Take 83 to Harlingen then 77 South.  Just a little south
  of San Benito you will turn on Hwy 100 and go East
to Port Isabel and the bridge to Padre Island bridge.
Take a hard right at the end of the bridge and drive
to the State Camp ground you will drive right buy
Destination South.  The State Grounds are one block away.

Too bad I will just miss you.. I will arrive in Brownsville around
March 20.
