[A/S] Re: Jeep pulling airstream

I've listened to all of the advice about not using a Jeep as a tow vehicle
and almost talkd myself into buying another vehicle. I've been driving my 96
Jeep for more than 7 yrs and I think all of the opinions are forgeting that the
Jeeps are not the copycat Explorers, Jimmys, etc. My specs say I can pull 5000
lbs with my setup and I was amazed when I tried it. Granted, I only towed it
65 miles, but once I got used to it, it pulled like a dream. I met logging
trucks, loaded and flying and never felt a difference. This is with a Jeep with
112,000 miles, factory shocks and still needing a brake controller. I am now
camped until I can have my work done on the Jeep such as a heavier differential
fluid, medium grade Monroes, etc as well as some work on Phoenix she needs. I
may not be able to go everywhere I could with a 2500 or the like, but watching
some of those tiny trucks pulling 5th wheels as big as 19 wheelers today, I
believe I will be much less of a hazard than a lot of folks.

I have my owners manual for my 96 if you want to contact me on the mods Jeep
reccomends to use it as a tow vehicle. BTW, my inline 6 came with a tranny
cooler from the factory even though it didn't have a towing package.
