I'm working on a similar project....  I attached two covered peices of 
plywood one to each
side of the bulkhead and attached a wall mounted tv stand.  We can watch the 
TV in the
bedroom or pull it out and around facing foward for watching in the living 
room.
This freed up the little counter space in our 22' safari.  Steve O
