Hunter, you don't need help with your argument and you and I don't see eye to
eye on everything but your archives have a lot of statements from me about my
sharing opinions on the need for horsepower to get our of the way of trouble,
wheelbase to help with control of the load, sufficiently sized brakes, etc to
help control the load coming down a steep pass and going into a sharp curve on
teh way down, weight in the vehicle to keep it from going airborne (or feeling
like it) when too much speed is acquired, sufficient springing to support up to
800lbs of tongue weight, etc....

I have never been so damned happy as the day I got rid of my Suburban 1500 with
its jacked up shocks and springs, 4 core radiator, extra this and extra that,
trying to make it something it was never designed for and still failing to do
so.  I never could have gotten my Sovereign in Jellystone by any road other than
the NW entrance but now I can because I have a PULLER!!
my Ford E350 Super Duty Power Stroke Diesel.  I have a ONE TON chassis with 20"
tires, 8 lug wheels, huge disc brakes on all 4 corners, an engine that will pull
a boulder up a cliff, hugely strong suspension, etc....

The very thought of a weensy jeep out on the road even pulling a Banbi, scares
me because while I strongly feel I can control my 31', I know darned well that
there are actually people out there trying to pull anything bigger than a small
pop up tent trailer with very underpowered, too short wheel base, yada vehicle
and that they are out there looking for a place and a time that I just might
arrive at and not be able to avoid the weapon being driven by that unqualified
driver.

point is, we can almost always control our load and rig, we also have to worry
about those who cannot ...
