I am still trying to learn more about WiFi, since it sounds like it could be 
a good way for a "nomad" to connect to his/her ISP.  I did find a stand-alone, 
pocket sized WiFi signal finder at this site:  http://www.kensington.com/html/3720.html

It sounds like a good way to ferret out a "hot spot".
