[A/S] Re: Interior Paint Airstream

I am also re-doing the interior of our '79 International. I was 
planning to use Zolatone, as that was (by all accounts) the original 
finish, and appears to have been quite durable. The curved bulkheads 
faded differently, but other than that the surface looks pretty good 
(for 25 year old paint). I did a little homework, and concluded that 
the Zolatone product to use comes from their Automotive, Industrial, 
and Marine (AIM) group. I can order the material from a local auto 
paint supply house. A gallon costs ~$100, and covers ~150 square feet. 
An automotive paint cleaner/degreaser is to be used to prep the 
surface- no other primers are needed. The material must be sprayed with 
a HLVP or conventional sprayer. The two tone color is achieved by small 
accent color encapsulated drops mixed in to the primary color. When 
they hit the surface they explode, creating accent color dots.

The process, while resulting in a durable surface, seems quite labor 
and capital intensive. I'll be glad to do it if the results I expect 
are achievable. I'd prefer to use a simpler process if I can achieve 
similar results. I'l welcome any thoughts on this.
