Re: [A/S] missing rivet

Dave, Elbert gave you information on replacing outside rivets (rivets holding
the outside segments of your trailer skin together). My earlier comments
were directed toward rivets inside and under the Airstream. I have never had to
replace a rivet on the outside skin of my Airstream, but had a number replaced
when a damaged panel was replaced.

Rivets inside and under your trailer are "Pop" rivets. I purchased my latest
tool at Sears. They had at least two different styles of tools and I bought
the one with a head that could be rotated to gain better access in tight
areas. Pop rivets are a great way to make repairs and attach items to the inside
aluminum surfaces of an Airstream. Pop rivets are replaced by drilling out the
old rivet. I think Wal*Mart sells pop rivets.
