Re: [A/S] dirty fresh water tank

lori, is it?
what sort of 'gunk' is it?
is it animal/vegetable/mineral?
what kind of tank is it?

is it possible that someone put black rubber hose into the water circuit and
it's breaking down?

if it's a plastic tank, and water's been sitting for some time, it could be
algae/bacterial colonies, and a thorough soaking with a strong bleach
solution will take care of it... then flush, soak with baking soda solution,
rinse, repeat until water runs/smells clean.

if it's an aluminum tank (i don't know that there were any, but anything's
possible i guess) it could be oxidized aluminum... thorough soaking in a
solution of cream of tartar (didn't you always wonder what it was for?) and
hot water will dissolve it... and you can flush/rinse it clean.

what year/size airstream are we talking about? and how long has it been
sitting?
