Jeff,I'm another with the vac disc brakes on a '77 Excella 500.  I am 
extremely happy with them.  Matter of fact, I am in the process of packing 
wheel bearings and checking on disc brake pads.  I bought the 31' trailer a 
little over 2 years ago from a gentlemen in AZ. and towed it back to TN.  I 
guess I have put 5,000 miles on it since the purchase and had been told by 
the PO that a brake job had been done after his purchase the year before.  
It is an excellent system once you get everything adjusted to suit you.
