[A/S] Re: 40 Lb vs 30Lb propane tanks

Greetings Oliver!

When I restored my '64 Overlander, I made the switch from 30 pound
steel tanks to 40 pound Worthington Aluminum tanks. The only
drawbacks that I noted on my trailer were that the front window
wouldn't clear the tanks until the propane cylinder mount was moved
forward about 3/4", the hold-down rod had to be replaced with a
longer unit, and the connector hose between the regulator and the LP
distribution tube had to be replaced as it was too short for the new
tanks. Beyond the three minor issues, the installation has been a
tremendous success - - I can now go more than three weeks between
tank fills (sometimes more) when traveling, and the tanks are
actually lighter and easier to manage than the steel tanks were.
Once the tanks were polished, they also complimented the polished
exterior of the coach.

Good luck with your decision!

Kevin
