Hi Phyliss,
 The hum and buzz is normal, but only an indication that the Univolt 
is on, but it may not be charging batteries. The water pump thing 
sounds like low battries. You need to use a multi meter or auto test 
light to make tests to see is charge power is getting from the 
Univolt to the batteries and if it isn't, why? Bad fuses, bad 
univolt, bad or loose wire, etc.If you have someone in the the family 
who is reasonably good with automotive electrics, they should be able 
to help, otherwise take it to a RV dealer that keeps a good shop. 
There is  potential for a well meaning but inept mechanic to start a 
fire or do other damage. Good luck Arnie
