Re: [A/S] need suggestions of a towing vehicle

You also need to take into account the extra weight you will be hauling in
your tow vehicle, such as: fuel, driver, passenger(s), generator, a topper and
bedliner (if it is a pick-up), etc.

I like my 2500HD GMC with the Duramax and Allison transmission. I have
plenty of towing capacity and don't have to be concerned about extra goodies I may
want to carry in the bed of the truck. Even with all this, the MPG while
towing is great, and the mountain passes are of no concern.

GM dealers (Chevy and GMC) have a booklet available called something like RV
Towing Guide. It is free and well worth reviewing, even if you are not
considering a GM vehicle.

My trailer is a 28 ft. Safari and I have experienced no need for a Hensley
hitch. With my long tow vehicle, the truck-trailer combination is rock solid.
If the trailer was a 34 ft., it could be a different story.
