Re: [A/S] need suggestions of a towing vehicle
Julia,
You are looking at the wrong line in the sales brochure. The numbers you are quoting
are UVW (Unloaded Vehicle Weight). The number you should use to determine towing
capacity is the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating).
The 30' S/O and the 28' Safari gross out at 9100 lb..
UVW used to be called dry weight and is defined as the weight of the coach without
optional equipment, LP gas, water or "stuff". The difference between GVWR and UVW is
NCC (Net Carrying Capacity. For the 30 S/O that is 1200 lb.. The 28' Safari will not
be any higher.
You might not think it when you start out but 1200 lb. of cargo isn't that much. So
you should always use the GVWR when shopping for towing capacity.
