I can only comment on the convection/microwave issue.
We've been building an addition to our home for the last 3 years. For 
the past 2 we've only had a large Sharp Convection/Microwave to use. 
We've done everything from pizza to Thanksgiving dinner in it. They 
are so versatile and easy to use I'd say that choosing to have only 
that appliance would not concern me
