[A/S] Differences between house appliances and RV appliances?

Here is another factor to consider....

I have greenhouse construction experience.  You can buy a "greenhouse" fan 
that has some of the motor assembly encased in epoxy to keep out the 
dampness that you will find in a greenhouse. Price: $100.00

You can buy the same type fan at Wall Mart for $9.00. None of the motor 
parts are incased in epoxy.  The Wall Mart fan will last only about 5 to 8 
years before it dies because of moisture.  But I could buy 10 of them for 
the price of one "Greenhouse" fan. Yea, the "Greenhouse" fan will last 
longer than the Wall Mart fans.  How much longer?  10 years, maybe more?  I 
don't know.

If you can go to Costco and buy a small household frig for $100, and a "RV" 
frig at Camping World for $995, you have to ask your self if maybe the one 
that breaks first, might be the better of the two.

PS:  As the astute gentleman pointed out in a earlier post,, one needs to 
let a frig settle down before using it.  This was a big issue in the 1950 
and 1960's.  The freon (spelling?) would bubble and mix with air.  So when 
laying a frig down in the back of a pickup, you mix it all up.  So when you 
finally got it to where you are going, you would stand it up and let it 
stand for a hour or so (may dad always said overnight, but he was excessive 
compulsive).

My appliance friends tell me this is not much of a issue now as it was 20 
or 30 years ago.  It's pull it off the pickup, stand it up, and plug it in.

I found thermostat controlled fans and shutters made for attics, the looked 
*just* like the high price stuff sold at Charlie's Greenhouse Supply for 10 
times what i would pay at Home Depot.
