I'm guessing (since I'm not an expert in this field)
that you'd be able to do it provided that your
alternator has sufficient capacity, and the connecting
wire is of the proper size.  However, nothing is free
(well,almost nothing) so you'd want to consider the
trade-offs.

Now,ask me a question that I'm more qualified to
answer,like "how do you adjust the timing on a Model A
Ford ?".
