My guess is that the water inlet hose fix and the water getting passed
the flusher valve on your toilet are connected. My guess is that some
small pieces of junk, solid deposits, got knocked loose where the old
piece of hose was screwed in for the extended period of time. A small
piece of the junk got through to your flusher valve and kept it from
closing all the way until it got washed on through by the next flush. I
would flush it several times to be sure it is cleaned out now, then keep
an eye on it for a while to be sure it has not really experienced a
failure of some kind. I had to replace the flusher valve on my toilet
when I first got my trailer. The valve was leaking where the external
linkage for flushing was attached. The very small drip caused the floor
to stay wet around the toilet area. The flusher valve cost about $30
with all the gaskets and stuff that is included in the kit. It is a
"bitch" to change out. The toilet must be removed and totally taken
apart to get the valve out for replacement. I replaced mine only to find
out the toilet would not hold water anymore, it all slowly leaked into
the holding tank. I had to pull everything apart again and turn the
gasket over that is between the two parts of the bottom of the toilet
where the water is held in the bottom of the toilet when not in use. All
has been well sense.
