My Jordan has a feature on the cable connector that allows you to slip
the cable through a slot to stop the controller from working when not
towing. I have used this feature on several occasions when I took the
truck on trips without the trailer. It saves on the mechanical wear on
the moving parts of the controller. You just leave the controller body
in place, and remove the cable from the clamp on the break peddle. The
unhooking and rehooking only takes a minute in each case. I always take
time to align the two sides of the clamp slot by bending them so the
cable can't come out by its self.
