I have a friend who has worked in the auto restoration business for quite a
few years. He told me about POR-15 rust paint. This stuff is very thin and
covers with only one coat. I used to live in Canada but am now living in
Upstate NY and I've seen my fair share of rust. This stuff works. I would
imagine that it would be thin enough for the home made spray gizmo to work
as well. I think their website is www.por15.com . It's quite expensive but
it really covers well. I brushed a 12' X 6 " car trailer chassis with less
than a quart.
