First of all . . . Way to go on your adventure!!!!!

Two different companies (that I know of, there may be more) manufacture
self-contained, composting toilets, that will replace the on board head.
They are odor free.  We have used one in our Tennessee mountain house
and had one in our boat.  Very, very little maintenance and the dry,
odor free, final product is a very good addition to your compost heap.
No permits, no digging and no poops in the ground. Also no water for
flushing.
