While you are at it, I'd suggest inspecting the "twister" that opens and
closes the blinds, especially that portion which connects to the housing of
the blinds. When I opened one of our blinds, the piece of wire that's at the
top of my style "twister" broke (weakest link).
When I asked the Factory Rep at the Sarasota Rally for a replacement, she
said they don't have them anymore and none are at the factory either.
Granted, this isn't a critical component and I've since found a stray
"twister" which I adapted for the job.
But - if I find any of them at flea markets, I'll scoff them up. With your
blinds being brand new, this might be the time to consider having one or two
spare "twisters" on hand. There are dozens of styles and configurations used
by manufacturers, which means a precise, exact selection is essential.
Been there, done that, but I don't have a spare in my stash box,
