I have heard this for years but don't understand this claim or found 
any difference if the proper charge rate is used. A 'battery' is nothing 
but a package of cells, it doesn't make sense why maintenance or 
lifespan would differ if the cells are in one or 2 packages. If a group 
of cells capable of putting out x amps and not overcharged, why 
do the 6v last longer?
