Re: [A/S] Optima vs golf cart batteries
so far, AGM batteries do not lose charge for a year of storage, and
the suckers tend to last about 10 yrs. that is pretty good
amortization considering they cost 2 to 4 times what a wet cell does.
do NOT get a gel battery.
and that seems to be a summary of what I have learned so far.
still investigating the Lifeline AGM battery line. they have more
capacity than the optima or the odyssey lines. sometimes almost as
much as an rquivalent deep cycle wet cell. been getting some great
advice off the list from list members.
BTW, my charge wizard and 9160 inverter/charger arrived yesterday.
now to see about installing same with conversion from the Univolt
which seems to be in the front wall of the trailer under a vent to the
outside. looking for instructions from anyone who has done it on a
mid to late 70s trailer.
cheers
