Re: [A/S] Where to put a generator?

It hasn't been, so far - the consumption figures are around here somewhere,
and on the Onan link as well - it seems like the efficiency of the propane
fired version was one of the selling points.

It's been installed in the Silv'r Beeste (SOB B-Van) for about four years
now, and the only other thing i use propane for any more in there is the gas
range... I use the genset to run the electric undersink InSinkerator flash
water heater, the microwave, the tv/vcr, computer, satellite receiver,
cappucino machine, etc. as well as supplying the 12v converter and keeping
the house battery topped up. I replaced the roof air with a pair of
FanTastic Vents, because the dash a/c cools the whole rig down pretty
quickly in the heat of the day when we're underway anyway... and since the
Beeste has a monster permanent-mount ASME propane tank, it's hard to compare
usage to the usual propane bottles...I'll be using a permanent-mount ASME
tank on the tongue of the Trailwind, too.

In the Airstream, i'll be using propane for the rv500 water heater and the
olde coleman oven/range too, so that will make a difference, i'm sure... I'm
not planning to do that much boondockage in the Trailwind, though, but i do
like the idea of having 115volts of ac power if needed.
