Jim:
I saw a vintage trailer last summer that the owner had acid washed, 
it looked awfull.  The guy said that  he did it to polish it which he 
hadn't stared yet.   I would say that he had etched it, it looked to 
be all tiny pits, a rough surface which  not exactly what you want on 
a polished surface.   Glad it wasn't my vintage trailer.
If he said what he used for acid I don't remember.
