RE: [A/S] Digest Number 1533

Congratulations on your selection of the finest. We just acquired ours,
too, a 1986 Limited. We have property at Clearlake, and would love to use
ours for a weekend/fishouse before we are ready to build a permanent home.

You didn't say what county you're in but since it's California, in a word,
"sorry." In most parts of our state there is only one condition in which
you can live semi-permanently and legally on land not zoned for RV parks.
After you have obtained the permit for your permanent residence you may
legally move your trailer onto your site for the duration of the
construction. You have two years to complete your home, and this may be
extended if the Building Official concludes that you are continuing to make
progress towards completion. Our neighbors did just this, and it was nearly
three years that they lived out of their SOB.

I'm sure there are exceptions, and others may know how to work the system
better than I.
