If you are a safety nut don't read this.

Now, for the rest of you, Don't under-estimate trial and error.  If 
you really want to pull this trailer with your van, buy a hitch and 
try it. You will need the hitch anyway, no matter what car you have.
When I bought my tradewind in Southern Iowa I had no idea what was 
involved. I showed up with my Cherokee and a standard 2000 pound 
factory frame hitch. No receiver, no equalizers, no sway bar, no 
extension mirrors.  I made it back to St.Cloud MN with out a problem. 
I will say that now that I know better, I don't tow like that any 
more but I didn't die from it and if it is the only option well, it's 
the only option.

So hook it up and give it a try.  Be careful.  You will know right 
away if you like it or not.  If it seems OK you better get a really 
good transmission and oil cooler. Make sure your trailer has good 
brakes in working order. Use a road where you can gradually increase 
speed. Do it on a Saturday morning early while everyome else is still 
recovering from Friday Night.  I have found this the best time to 
test questionable loads.
