[A/S] 28' Excella Tow Vehicle Question

HI,

I'm just buying my 1st RV - a 28'Excella and I'm in need of the 
wisdom of some long time RVer's...

Now I need to buy a tow vehicle.  What is the minimum requirements I 
should be looking at?  1/2, 3/4 or 1 Ton?  Gas or diesel?  How 
important is it to get a vehicle with a "tow package"?  How can you 
tell on a used vehicle if it does have a "tow package"?

I'm a couple of years from retirement so usage will be limited for 
awhile yet but I do want to use the trailer some.  So I'm leaning 
towards looking at a used vehicle and keepin the price under $15,000.
