A 240V 50A hookup is two phases of 120V at 50A each.  The adapter 
here:

just uses one of those phases for your 30A cord. While the 50A outlet 
could supply 50A to your trailer, if you had enough appliances on to 
demand it, the main breaker in your trailer won't let the trailer use 
more than 30A.

At most, you're using less than 1/3 of the capacity of their 50A 
hookup with a 30A adapter.
