[A/S] Replacing couches

Hi Everyone,

Yes, spring does excite the "renovation bug" in everyone....and since
our long out west trip is two weeks behind us, I am still remembering
the uncomfortable nights on our couch and want to do something about it
soon, before we just put it off indefinitely.  Here the scoop....

We have a 1973, 29' International (like Daisy's!) Ours has the street
side couch/bed as well as the front couch and all the storage
underneath, plus the curved back around the angle.  It looks nice, but
it is really too soft and we want to replace the front couch with
something firmer and eliminate the side couch and use a chair.  My
husband has already built a nice walnut bookcase with a drop down desk
top on the side of the refer cabinet that faces the front, so we can use
the space for the desk area where my notebook computer lives when we
travel. 

Question 1.  

I see that Camping World has a couch unit on sale until mid April.  The
salesman said it would fit our unit, but it is in one piece and he also
said it would fit through the door.  My husband measured and said it
would fit in the couch space, but is skeptical about getting it through
the door.  I want to know how it 'sets' and is it well made. Has anyone
done this? Camping World is 3 hours one way from us.


2.If we do this we would have to patch the floor where the side couch
has been removed but we do have extra carpeting....or maybe now's the
time to add wood or cork...I vote for cork and I know Daisy has done
this but we do have a dog...is cork tough enough for the dogs nails?


3. I would like to mount the TV/VCR in the bedroom (we have walk through
with singles on each side) and want to remove the magazine rack and
mount it there....is that a good choice?  What type of shelves would
hold it steady. I'm thinking he could build another walnut rack and use
the TV straps.  Other more aesthetic choices?

Thanks for the advice....I need to Keep on this project before the
Kitchen/house reno starts in three weeks!!!!
