Re: [A/S] tow vehicle advice

Llysa,
I purchased an ex-Airforce 1987 3/4 ton 2wd Diesel Suburban last summer to
pull our 59 Ambassador International. It had only 22,000 miles on it, seats
9 passengers in great comfort, has early 70's styling, AC and gets great
mileage. It was originally a 6.2 liter Diesel, naturally aspirated engine.
It was quite slow on the hills so I added a Banks "Sidewinder" turbo (Banks
supplied GM with this system in the late 80's & early 90's). It now has
enough power to pull through the Rockies. Your 22' is somewhat lighter than
what I am pulling so you probably wouldn't need the turbo, however it is
very nice. From what I understand there is a glut of used Suburban's in
Texas and maybe Arizona. Why don't you check out availability in those areas
and pick one up when you go to pick up the trailer?

PS I also have several early 70's VW Westphalia's
