Yes. Along with the cell phone to laptop interface cable should be a 
software disk that will configure the cell phone as a "digital modem".

Once configured, you can call your home ISP and do your Internet 
business as usual except the connection speed is only about 14.4 kb. If 
you do this during your night or weekend free minutes then there is no 
extra cost.

I was able to use this setup to send e-mail from Devil's Garden 
campground in the middle of Arches National Park!

If you want higher speed, Verizon will sell you the service for a price. 
Also need a cell phone compatable with the high speed service. I have 
not invested in this.
