[A/S] Trailer Size
I'm not sure how this is supposed to work - this is my first time trying
it.
I agree with 'Hunter' on size - the 25 foot appears optimum to me, of
current models. Ours is a 26 foot (1964 Overlander).
One point however, which may have been a misunderstanding. If I recall
correctly, Airstream makes TWO types of 25 foot trailers. One
(Classic?) has lots of storage; the other (Sovereign?) is less expensive
and has minimal storage. Our choice for a someday future trailer is the
Classic. (If I recall correctly, the name Classic replaced the name
Excella.)
What fits where depends on what you do. We have found that our 26
foot trailer is often a tight fit in Forest Service and state park
campgrounds. A substantially larger one wouldn't go. My impression is
that maximum sizes stated refer to what they expect the typical driver
could get in and out of sites without undue difficulty. We've parked in
sites marked for 'up to 20 foot trailers', and these sometimes took quite
a bit of maneuvering.
