I drive a Chev Z 71 4X4 1500 series which I bought used. The dealer 
had just installed new tires Load Range "E" 3042# @ 80 PSI.  The 
driving weight towing is about 6000#, my tires were 100% over 
capacity which results in a hard ride.  The dealer had not done me 
any favor.
I just got home minutes ago with a new set of Cooper Discovery Load 
Range "C" 2200# @ 50PSI and I still have almost 50% spare load 
carrying capacity.
Now I assume that your truck is at least a 3/4 ton if it has a 
Cummins.
Cooper are good tires as far as I know. I deal with a high volume 
locally owned tire shop that caters to trucks and he sells lots of 
Coopers though it is not the only brands he sells.
As far as I am concerned one of the main things is to buy a tire that 
is rated for your intended use.  There seems to be a a trian of 
thought that higher rated tires are better.  Not necessarily if you 
want a decent ride.
I have no comment on your tire size.
