I spent two months on an Alaska adventure two years ago.  You will have
more sunshine than most areas of the lower 48.  I don't remember more
than 6 or 7 days of rain and the sunshine lasted 20 to 22 hours each day
for most of my stay.  Late June in Fairbanks will provide 23 hours or
more of charging time.

We're going to Alaska this summer where we expect there 
will be a lot of days without sun.  We're musing over the idea that 
wind power might be helpful when visiting family places like Maine, 
Michigan, etc.

One of the 'cons' I learned today is the noise at night when 
sleeping.
